Keepers of “The Dream”

The Oscar Thomas Foundation donated two Oscar Thomas MLK paintings to the National Civil Rights Museum. The gift to the historical Memphis, Tennessee landmark not only honors the memory of Dr. King, but also preserves some of Oscar’s great works, while sharing them with the world.

Each January, the Keepers of “The Dream” program promotes and celebrates Dr. King’s legacy of justice, peace, and equality through visual arts and awards.

Scholarship Program

The Scholarship Program is designed to provide support for college bound high school artists who exemplify excellence and strong potential in visual art. The Oscar Thomas Foundation aims to foster a feeling of social and environmental responsibility among artists. Recipients are therefore selected not only on the basis of their need and talent, but also on their demonstrated commitment to give back to the community through their work.

Education, Art, Self Expression, and Leadership (EASEL)

The arts are important to mental and social growth. Cutbacks in the arts have compromised the survival of school art programs everywhere. Through EASEL, the Oscar Thomas Foundation partners with public school art teachers to provide support for budding artists, under their supervision.
