Every year, I look forward to the 8 week summer arts camp. They take good care of my kids, challenging them academically and artistically, while exposing them to educational field trips and other exciting activities. My family and I are so grateful for the Oscar Thomas Foundation and the wonderful work they do for us and others.

The Oscar Thomas Foundation has allowed my personal experience as an artist to come full circle: I spent high school developing the way I express myself, and now I can say that I have helped others learn to express themselves in positive and creative ways. My experience at the Oscar Thomas Foundation has given me a new perspective on creativity: anyone has the ability to create, as long as they have the confidence to express themselves.

I absolutely love being a part of the Oscar Thomas Foundation! It’s great working with the kids. To see their faces light up when they learn something new warms my heart. Even when some of the children struggle, they are able to overcome their barriers and create something beautiful. I will treasure this experience forever, it gave me the opportunity to teach eager young minds the one thing I love most, art.

The Oscar Thomas Foundation has been super supportive to not only myself, but to anyone who exhibits an interest in the arts and the community. The first time I came into contact with the foundation was in 10th grade, when I entered the "Celebrating Our Differences" art competition. My painting won first place, proving to myself that potential and hard work are the key ingredients to success.
Over the summer, I taught art at the foundation’s summer camp. This experience made me realize that we must do everything we can to make sure the next generation learns from past mistakes, instead of repeating them. The Oscar Thomas Foundation definitely operates with this in mind, creating special opportunities for children to learn, excel, and make their parents proud.

Through the years, the Oscar Thomas Foundation has followed my artistic journey and helped me overcome my fear of public speaking. I'm happy to do what I can for such a great organization, because its all for children and the love of art.

Every time I think of the things that took place in high school up to this present day, the memories that involved the Oscar Thomas Foundation put a smile on my face. Being inspired by the arts, it was great just to know that such a program exists. This program recognizes and appreciates one for expressing their love for art, life story, and personality all within a piece of artwork. The Oscar Thomas Foundation respected and accepted me, as well as other youth, for their devotion to be unique, creative and just the ability to at least try.
The foundation encouraged me to be where I am today. This organization not only valued and acknowledged me as a young lady and artist, but also awarded me for my artistic talent. Now that I am a young woman and artist, I want to also do the same for upcoming artists of today.

The Oscar Thomas Foundation is an excellent organization constantly supporting the Arts. In my experiences with working with them they have helped me to establish as well as teach my love for art to younger students. They give opportunities for young artists to be creative and explore ideas within a positive message.
I remember the first time I ever worked with the Oscar Thomas Foundation I explored the idea of celebrating our differences. It made me challenge myself to look at our similarities in humanity instead of focusing on our differences. They helped me to become a more versatile person and appreciate as well as celebrate different cultures.

The Oscar Thomas Foundation has had a very positive effect on me. Having the chance to work with younger children and express my education of the arts with them was more than wonderful.
The effects made by helping change the world by reaching one child at a time through the visual arts, is what makes this organization so great!

I was educated with Dr. King's children and his memory means so much to me. I am so proud to be a friend of a foundation that honors that memory. The Oscar Thomas Foundation provide so many beneficial programs to the community. Volunteering with them is such a rewarding experience. Not only do you help create masterpieces, you become one as well.
