MLK KEEPERS OF THE DREAM

 

Oscar greatly admired the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King and painted many portraits and murals of him. His favorite Dr. King quote was, “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.”

Based on the philosophy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Oscar Thomas Foundation keeps "The Dream" alive, promotes the spirit of peace, nonviolence, tolerance, understanding, service and social change, the world over by:

 

1. Partnering with local, national and international organizations that promote equity, diversity, coexistence and community engagement.

2. Empowering cross-cultural individuals to recognize, accept, and celebrate their differences.

3. Provide opportunities for individuals to explore and share their interpretations of various world problems and celebrate multiple perspectives of proposed solutions.

4. Promote lifelong learning, leadership, uniqueness, service and creativity.

5. Provide opportunities for individuals to learn and practice conflict resolution and nonviolent theory.
